and at several places. The glands are mncli smaller. Treated
20 minntes.
Dec. 11th. Morning. Temperature, 37° C. Slept well; no
snoring after two o’clock. Perspired slightly during the night.
Left tonsil free at the front ; left palate near it the same ;
the covering on uvula loosens, same posteriorly ;
right tonsil
clear.
Evening temperature, 37° C. Treated 25 minutes.
Eec. 18 th. Has slept vs’ell ;
plays and takes food with appetite.
Temperature, 37*2° C. The membranous covering only present
as small islands. The lymphatic and submaxillary glands are
normal.
Dec. 19th. Slept well. CEdema of the right inferior eyelid.
Albumen in urine, 1%. Quantity of urine small. General con-
dition yet continues good ; she plays. Treatment 3 5 minutes.
(Edema gone.
Evening No oedema. The child plays and laughs.
Dec. 20th. The remainder of the membrane on left side hangs
free as a sail from the tonsil. Temperature, 3 7 • 6 °
C. Treated 3 5
minutes ;
the throat, 15 minutes; back and abdomen during the
rest of the time.
Dec. 21st. Urine has 1% albumen. Membrane completely
gone, Treatment as before.
Dec. 22nd. Urine still contains albumen. Throat treated 10
minutes, with p(^trissage of the abdomen. I also gave vibrations
over the kidneys.
Dec. 23rd. Urine contains albumen in the proportion of about
1 to a thousand. Quantity greater. Child looks well.
Dec. 2Uh. Quantity of urine about normal. Traces of albumen
scarcely discernible.
Here I stopped the treatment. On the 6th of January 1889
the patient was sent home.
Treatment.—ThQ treatment is here the same as for Angina
(Tonsillitis), only vibrations are at the beginning substituted" for
shakmgs, and the latter must be made much more delicately
