Number of officials engineers and clerks: 160. Number of workmen: 1800.
Postal Address: Bofors, Sweden. Telegrams: Boforsco, Karlskoga, Sweden.

We have now endeavoured to give the reader an idea of the only
munition-producing steel works in Sweden, and of its products. Sweden is, it is true, a small country as far as population is concerned, and it is, therefore natural,
that Bofors cannot, as far as quantity is concerned, be compared with the enormous establishments of a corresponding nature belonging to the Great Powers. The political importance of munition manufacturing compels every state chiefly to encourage its own industry.
Without competition, however, development is apt to be crippled in this branch too, and
most countries must, consequently, follow the custom of placing at least part of their
orders abroad. It may therefore be well to bear in mind the name and address of
Bofors, the steel works with the splendid ores and charcoal iron in thinly populated Sweden,
"the country without a foreign policy," which only desires to develope its resources
in a peaceful manner. Swedes are proud of their iron and steel and not least of the
Bofors products. The B, pierced by a horizontal arrow, which has been the Bofors
stamp for many years, guarantees a first-class quality in every respect.
