Windflügel, ohne dass man dadurch, wie ein alter
Chronist berichtet, irgend einen Aerger ausdrücken
wollte. Nach dem die Kirche 1746 nochmals von
einer Feuersbrunst heimgesucht worden war, ward
sie abermals aufgebaut und dies ist denn die
jetzige Kirche. Was das Jnre anbetrifft, so sind die
Chöre und die Orgel von 1768, die Kanzel und
der Altarschmuck von 1798.
Die Kirche mit ihren Spitzbogenfenstern, ihren
einfachen, aber geschmackvollen Verzierungen, ihrem
feinen Gewölbe, ihrer leichten und zweckmässigen
Einrichtung, ihrer Helligkeit und Gemüthlichkeit,
macht einen guten und erhebenden Eindruck und
erleichtert die Andacht.
Jn frühem Tagen war die südliche Seite der
Kirche mit einer Reihe schattiger Bäume
geschmückt, in deren Schutz die sogenannten Deutschen
Buden standen. Beide Theile sind weggeschafft, und an
deren Stelle ist eine hübsche Granitmauer aufgeführt
obenauf mit einem Eisengitter versehen. Der alte
Begräbnissplatz ist geebnet und mit geschmackvollen
Anlagen auf der südlichen, wie nördlichen Seite
der Kirche verziert.

Denna kyrka, med sina spetsbågsfönster, sina
enkla men smakfulla prydnader, sitt fina hvalf, sin
lätta och ändamålsenliga inredning, sitt ljus och sin
trefnad gör ett godt och upplyftande intryck och
underlättar andakten. Vi kunna dock ej säga, att den
representerar någon stil, att den, i det hela taladt,
tillfredsställer smakens fordringar på enhet,
öfverensstämmelse och konstnärlig anordning.
I fordna dagar var kyrkan åt södra sidan prydd
med en rad lummiga träd, i skydd af hvilka funnos
de så kallade tyska bodarne. Båda delarne äro
nu bortröjda, och i deras ställe är uppförd en vacker
mur af granit, ofvantill försedd med ett jernstaket.
Den gamla begrafningsplatsen är jeinnad och prydes
nu af täcka planteringar både å kyrkans södra och
å dess norra sida.

As to the interior, the galleries and the organ
were fitted up in 1788 and the pulpit and
adornments of the alter in 1798. _ _
This church with its Gothic windows, its
simple but tasteful ornaments, its _fine^ vault and light
and convenient arrangements, its lightness and air
of comport are of a good and edifying effect, and
are adapted to inspire feelings of devotion We
cannot say that it represents any particular style, or
that it, on the whole satisfies the claims of taste
as regards unity, harmony and artistic arrangement.
In former days the south side of the
churchyard was adorned with shady trees beneath which
were the so called German shops. Both the
former and the latter are now no more, and their site
has been replaced by fine wall oi granite, sur
mounted by an iron railing.
The old burial ground has been levelled and
is now laid out as a garden, both on the north and
south side of the church.
