The Floral King. 205

1778. His remains were interred in the Cathedral
of Upsala, whither they, in solemn silence, were
followed by all the teachers and students of the
University. His sorrowing widow had an unosten-
tatious stone put over the grave, but afterwards a
monument of black porphyry was erected, to record
to coming generations where rest the dust of one
of one of the noblest sons of Sweden. The grief
at his death was as general and sincere as the
admiration and love had been for him while he lived.

His works, and his name, live for ever.
