Flensburg, he had had a long meeting with Dönitz,
Schwerin von Krosigk, and Himmler, at which
were also present Field Marshal Keitel and Colonel
General Alfred Jodl. On this occasion
Schellenberg said that he had been able to persuade the
government to order the capitulation of all German
troops in Holland, northwestern Germany, and
Denmark. The only one who had violently
opposed this order was Keitel. Von Post told
Schellenberg that the Swedish Government naturally
felt it necessary to inform the representatives of
the Allied powers in Stockholm of what had been
going on. Schellenberg expressed the wish that the
German Minister to Sweden, Hans Thomsen, and
the representative of the German military attaché
would leave for the Swedish-Norwegian frontier
in order to inform the German commander in
Norway, General Franz Böhme, of the situation.
These two gentlemen took off from Barkarby
airfield near Stockholm at 6.30 p.m. in a Swedish
military plane.

The following day, May 6th, Thomsen
reported that he had been met at the frontier in the
morning by a representative of General Böhme.
